We offer a peaceful and private Chapel of Rest, where parents, siblings, and family members are welcome to spend time with their loved one. You are encouraged to bring personal items such as photos, teddies, blankets, or toys, so your child feels comforted and surrounded by love while in our care.

Free Funeral Services for Children Under 18

At Gaunts, we do not charge any funeral director fees for children under 18. We are committed to supporting bereaved families with dignity and care, not financial worry.

Our Free Child Funeral Package Includes:

  • A suitable coffin or casket (up to £300 value)

  • Bringing your child into our care

  • Hearse or limousine from a local address to the place of service

  • Unlimited visits in our Private Chapel of Rest

  • Full professional services of a personal funeral director

  • 30 printed Order of Service booklets

  • 6 sessions of bereavement counselling support

  • Crematorium or burial fees (covered via the Children’s Funeral Fund)

Government Support: The Children’s Funeral Fund (CFF)

Since 2019, the Children’s Funeral Fund for England has provided financial support to cover cremation or burial fees for:

  • Stillborn babies after 24 weeks of pregnancy

  • Children aged 0 to 17 years

This means there are no cremation or burial fees to pay for eligible families.

Optional Additions (Reduced Rates Available)

While we do not charge for our core funeral services for children, you may wish to include extra touches. We offer many optional extras at reduced or at-cost pricing:

  • Horse-drawn hearse – Price on application

  • Additional limousines – From £100.00

  • Floral tributes – Price on application

If your baby was stillborn after 24 weeks of pregnancy, you are eligible for support through the Children’s Funeral Fund, and we will provide our services at no cost. We will help you create a sensitive and loving farewell.

Yes. We can assist with memorial stones, plaques, or alternative tributes. We can also put you in touch with local artists for bespoke keepsakes or jewellery if desired.
